1968

Thought I would start with all of those born in the year 1968. What happened and what the year was all about.

Guess who was born in 1968 and would be forty this year. Some of these names suprised me as well. Cuba Gooding Jr, Wanda Stuart, LL Cool J, Lisa Marie Presley, Paulie Shore, Chynna Phillips, Molly Ringwald, Zoltan, Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Amanda Burke, Chayanne, Jimmy Carson, Ethan Flower, Jill Hennessey there's many more, these are just a few so that you know that you're not alone and the only ones being forty this year.

Just for info to suprise those people at dinner parties. The Oscars where won by none other than Barbara Streissand for Funny Girl. The best male performer was Cliff Robertson. Don't really know who he was. Either way now you can just blow your friends away with this titbit of information.

Some interesting TV series in 1968 was the Avengers, all I can say is I saw the reruns when I grew up. Bonanza was the name of the game. Gunsmoke was another western which was a total hit. Here's Lucy, Bewitched and Mission Impossible made it to TV.

For the movies the one movie which stood out for me was 2001 : Space Oddyssey which was released in 1968. Planet of the Apes was another movie in 1968. Some other titles which made a comeback recently which was new releases in 1968 was The Thomas Crown Affair, the Producers, Rosemary's Baby, Romeo and Juliet.
In the States the Vietnam War started in 1968. Nixon was elected president. Jackie Kennedy married Onassis. Martin Luther Kind was assassinated. Billy Jean King won Wimbledon.
The best books in 1968 was Airport by Arthur Hailey, Couples by John Updike, Testimony of Two Men, Taylor Caldwell, A Small Town in Germany, John le Garre.
The hit songs of 1968 where the following, Dock of the Bay, Otis Redding, Chain of Fools, Aretha Franklin, Green Tambourine, the Lemon Pipers, Tighten Up, Archie Bell and the Drells, Judy in the Disguise with glasses, John Fred and His Playboy band. I'm not even going there.

2009 Fashion Show Inspirations

I must admit I like the baggy pants. Unfortunately I'm a bit short so this won't suit me, yet I can imagine if I was about 10cm taller, twenty cm thinner around the waist. This so much would do it for me.

The closest I would probably get to wearing anything like a flowing stylish pants is probably around the gym. The unfortunate factor is I don't do gym.

2009 Spring Inspiration

This more likely is something I would be able to wear. I thought the slimming line down the middle would just do it for me and a little flairy skirt and I'm the belle of the ball.

Beijing 2009

This is so much colour. I luv it. Not that I would ever be able to do anything like this. I just luv the fact that it's an option.
